Who Benefits From Low Cost Individual Health Insurance?

Do you need wellbeing coverage that isn’t through an employer? If you answered “yes” to that question, then you’re probably interested in finding low cost individual health insurance. Conventional wisdom says that this type of cover will automatically be high, since an employer won’t be making copayments. But that’s simply untrue! Here are some people who can benefit from such cheap coverage:  

1. Self-Employed. There are definitely several plans to being self-employed. You set your own hours, you’re your own boss, and get tons of tax benefits. But one of the drawbacks is that you don’t have an employer that provides you with wellbeing coverage. The good news is that you can still find plans that are designed for individuals. And you can find ones that won’t burn a hole in your pocket!

2. Unemployed. If you’re between jobs, then you may also be interested in low cost individual health insurance. It’s easy to assume that you won’t need such coverage since you’re spending a lot of time at job hunting. But it’s best to prepare for any medical emergencies that happen. You can get become sick or injured at home, at work, and on the road. So even if you’re between jobs, avoid being between insurers for wellbeing cover.  

3. Uncovered Employee. Simply being employed by a company doesn’t mean that you’ll automatically have wellbeing coverage. Maybe you’re a full-time or seasonal employee, or your employer simply cannot afford to provide coverage. Regardless of the reason, being at a workplace increases the risk of accidents occurring. That means you could be in a world of trouble if you experience an on-the-job medical emergency. So take out a policy for individuals, to protect yourself.

If you fit in any of these three categories, then you should certainly be on the hunt for low cost individual health insurance. Take no chances!
