Do Insurance Companies Offer More Than Car Insurance?

Auto insurance is one of those unfortunate payments that we have to make and we have to do it because the law says so. It seems that so many people drove around without insurance, causing accidents, that our legislators decided that we all needed to be insured to protect us from the uninsured. So, now we pay insurance payments and seem to get nothing in return, unless an accident occurs. If you are looking for car insurance, but want a little extra, there are ways to get more than car insurance from your agent.

Of course, you want your car to be covered in case there is an accident or it is vandalized. But, you also want yourself to be covered if you do damage to someone else’s car or hurt someone. So, what else is there that an insurance company can offer you, something that would have more value to you?

One item that you will find incredibly useful that doesn’t involve an accident at all is coverage for your windshield. Most people think that this is somewhat frivolous and balk at the price of this coverage, but you could save an awful lot of money if your windshield is damaged. If you do get the coverage, which usually costs only pennies a day, you will be able to get your windshield repaired or replaced at no cost to you. The little chip that you see in your windshield (that may have been there forever!) can be replaced, giving your car more value should you ever decide to sell it.

There are also other items that would qualify as more than car insurance, such as rental car reimbursement, that are inexpensive, and can really pay off should you ever be in the situation where you need to use them.

4 Major Advantages of Long Term Health Insurance

If who want your wellbeing coverage to provide more options and independence, then long term health insurance may be your best option. But before you decide that it’s definitely your best option, you should know the basics. So here are some of the most important features of such policies:

1. The coverage is lengthy. Okay, this is stating the obvious. But if you want a policy that’s more stable, then you should choose long term health insurance over those policies with a short period. Since you can keep this type of coverage longer, you won’t have to deal with many of the logistical problems that occur with coverage having a shorter duration. This can save you a ton of time, effort, and most importantly—money!

2. There’s more coverage. One of the main drawbacks of short-time coverage is that the amount of the cover itself tends to be quite low. Meanwhile, some medical conditions and emergencies can cause your heart to skip a beat when you get the bill. That’s why the higher coverage can be a big benefit when you take out a long-time policy.

3. There are more features. Long-time coverage certainly provides more features than short-time coverage does. While individually these features may seem somewhat insignificant, they can create a huge difference from short-time coverage.

4. It can cover pre-existing conditions. This typically isn’t the case with short-time coverage. However, with long-time coverage, companies will cover conditions that you have when taking out a policy. If they do, you’ll likely need to wait until the “exemption period” ends. But afterwards, you can have peace of mind knowing that the insurer will cover conditions that you developed in the past.

When deciding whether or not to secure long term health insurance, then consider these benefits. In the end, you’ll save valuable resources that you can use for other stuff.

What Constitutes Affordable Individual Health Insurance?

How do you know when you’ve found affordable individual health insurance? What qualifies as “cheap” actually involves the right blend of “ingredients.” When searching for such wellbeing coverage, it’s crucial to know what to look for. Here are some of the main features:

1. Low premium. This is definitely one of the most important features to look for. If your monthly payments are too high, then it’s really difficult to say that the cost of the policy is reasonable. Of course, you’ll want to get good value when paying a low premium. Otherwise, the lower price tag simply isn’t worth it. So look for a low premium that provides you with adequate coverage.

2. Low deductible. Policies with high deductibles can basically offset low premiums. Even basic medical services such as check-ups can cause you to look twice when you get the bill. Of course, there can be some give-and-take. If either your premium or deductible are rock-bottom low, then it’s not the end of the world if the other one is somewhat higher. You can still find affordable individual health insurance that way. Slightly higher deductibles are okay if you need few medical services.

3. Low fees. Just about any wellbeing cover will include fees. That’s okay. But look for policies with super-low fees. Fees can quickly pile up and offset any savings due to low premiums or deductibles. Always ask questions about mysterious fees. In fact, you could actually be exempt from paying some of them. So it doesn’t hurt to ask first. As usual, you might be pleasantly surprised to learn that the total fees cost less than you expected!

When looking for affordable individual health insurance, make sure to search for low premiums, low deductibles, and low fees. This will help to reduce the overall cost of your coverage. How low can you go?
